전재홍 Jae Hong Jeon

1997년에서부터 현재까지 10년이 넘게 한국의 남쪽 지방에 있는 근대 건축물들을 찍어 오고 있는 전재홍은 사진을 역사학, 사회학, 정치학, 건축학 등 타 분야의 지식들과 연계시키고 있다. 사진의 기법에 있어서도 흑백인화의 아날로그 방식을 취하며 자료를 분석하고 기록하고 분류하고 있다. 장기 프로젝트로 진행되는 전재홍의 사진 작업은 사진과 지식과의 관계를 재정립시키고 있다.

  

Jae Hong Jeon has taken photographs of modern architectures in southern part of Korea for more than ten years since 1997. Through his works he relates photography to the other knowledge such as history, social science, and architecture. He researches, analyzes, records and classifies the photographic documents. His technical method of photography is totally analog in black and white.  His long term projects rearrange the relationship between photography and knowledge.
