백승우 Seung Woo Back

한국 대학에서 사진을 공부하고 영국에서 예술 이론으로 박사를 수료한 백승우는 현실과 가상의 공간을 대비시키며 다문화주의적 상황에서의 정체성 문제를 사진으로 이미지화하고 있다. 백승우는 혼란스럽고 변형된 이미지를 사진적인 아름다움으로 치환시키지만 매체를 자유롭게 이용하며 사진 이미지의 영역의 틀을 넓히고 있다.

 

Seung Woo Back received M.F.A. in Photography in Korea and studied Research Fine Art and Theory (PhD, M.A.) in England. He approaches socio-cultural issues relating to the identity in multi-cultural situations in Korea, contrasting real and unreal space. He transforms disturbing images to the photographic beauty using diverse photographic methods and expands the sphere of photographic works.
