이용훈은 2003년 사진비평상을 수상하고 개인전 <순애보>를 열었다. 그 후로 다수의 그룹전에 참여하였지만 많은 작품을 발표하지는 않았다. 39(2)에서 이용훈은 순간적인 셔터로만 잡을 수 있는 감각들을 군기 빠진 예비군 훈련장에서 담아내고 있다. 이용훈의 사진에서 보여지는 사진의 순간적인 감각의 전달은 사진의 대상이 주는 중압감을 털어버리고 의미를 변형시킨다.

Young Hoon Lee was granted Photo Critic Award in Seoul, Korea and held a solo exhibition Pure Love in 2003. He contributed to some group exhibitions but his works are not well known to the public. In 39(2), Lee captures the momentary senses through the evanescent shutter chances at the reserve army training ground where the military discipline is slack. The transference of the momentary senses shown in his photographs lightens the weight of the photographic subjects and modifies their meaning.
